Vision and Mission Statement

The Union of Postal Communications Employees (UPCE), will promote respect, fairness and human dignity, while ensuring the protection of our members' rights in the workplace.

Representation:  We will make every effort to provide the proper and correct implementation of the UPCE-PSAC collective agreements that we negotiated with the respective employers, through meaningful consultation and/or grievance procedure and arbitration.  We will endeavour to have a political voice at all levels and we will be cognizant of social and political issues outside of the workplace that may benefit the working class.

Education:  We will collaborate with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), our bargaining agent, to help develop, provide and facilitate useful and relevant training sessions for our members.  Our education sessions will be built on questions, concerns, suggestions and feedback from our membership.

Health and Safety: We will promote and create safe and healthy workplaces, through consultation, health and safety committees, collective bargaining and remedies such as complaints, grievances and arbitration.

Bargaining:  We will work with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), our bargaining agent, in a combined effort to obtain fair and decent collective agreements for our members at Canada Post and at Purolator Inc.

Transformation:  We will continue to adapt and take a pro-active approach to all trends and changes as exhibited by both our employers and by outside influences, such as government and the capitalist economy.
